BELIEFS
This church shall always look to the Bible as its guide in spiritual matters and shall fully subscribe to the fundamental truths and the standard of Christian Doctrines and Principles as set forth by the Christian Education Board and approved by the Delegate Conference of the Church.
THE WORD OF GOD:
We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. That the Bible is infallible in its declaration, final in its authority, all-sufficient in its provisions and comprehensive in its sufficiency 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21
THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe in the existence of the ONE TRUE GOD, who has revealed Himself as the Eternal One – Deut. 6:4. He exists as
(a) Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Luke 3:22 and Matt. 28:19-20
- b) The Triune God is the Saviour of Mankind John 3:16
- c) The Triune God is the Creator of the Universe, Genesis 1:1-26
MAN’S DEPRIVED NATURE:
We believe that all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are subject to eternal punishment and need repentance and regeneration. Gen. 3:1-19; Isaiah 53:6
THE SAVIOUR:
We believe that man’s need of a Saviour has been met in the person of Jesus Christ, because of His deity, Virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, resurrection and Ascension, His abiding intercession and second coming which prove that He is God. John 8:46; 14:30; Col. 1:15; 2Cor. 5:19; Rom 3:25; Acts 2:36; Phil. 2:9; 11 1 Thess. 4:16, 17; Rev. 22:20.
REPENTANCE, JUSTIFICATION AND SANCTIFICATION
We believe all men have to repent of and confess their sins before God, and believe on the vicarious death of Jesus Christ before they can be justified before God. We believe in the sanctification of the believer through the working of the Holy Spirit and in God’s gift of Eternal life to the believer. Acts 2:38; Luke 15:7; Rom. 4:25; 5:16; 1 Cor. 1:30; 1 Thess 4:3
GIFTS AND FRUITS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the operation of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. 1 Cor. 12:8-11; Mark 16:17; Acts 2:4; Gal. 5:22
NEXT LIFE:
We believe in the Resurrection of both the saved and unsaved. They that are saved to the resurrection of life, and the unsaved to the resurrection of damnation. John 5:28; Dan. 12:2; Rom. 2:7; 6:23; l John 1:1-2.
TITHES AND OFFERTORY:
We believe in tithing and the giving of free will offertory towards the cause of carrying forward the kingdom of God. We believe that God blesses the cheerful giver. Mal. 3:10; Heb. 7:1-4; Luke 6:38; Acts 20:35/
DIVINE HEALING:
We believe that the healing of sickness and disease is provided for God’s people in the atonement: Isaiah 53:4-5; Matt. 8:7-17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; Luke 13:10-16;
NOTE: Yet the church is not opposed to soliciting the help of qualified medical practitioners.
